Fuck that game, man. It started off pretty entertaining and rather addicting, but the difficulty is all over the place. One mission is a walk in the park, the next is fucking D-Day. It's not even remotely worth the effort to get past some of them. I made it to Chapter 13 in the English campaign before I said fuck it.

Honestly, that description makes me fairly curious about it. What does it play like? Something like Chivalry?

It plays more like the DS Age of Empires games without the base building. Read my review.

Depth Hunter (PC)

I spent 30 minutes with this, and I know right now I'm not bothering to finish it. This game has gorgeous graphics yes, but the gameplay (spearfishing) is executed in an uncomfortably amateur and shallow fashion. It's frankly not fun at all to play. So I'm going to just remove this one from my Summer Games list, and move on. I still plan to give Depth Hunter 2 a try, just to see if the developers learned from their mistakes with this first entry.

I never played the first one, so I can't speak for a comparison, but I found the Depth Hunter 2 to be fairly entertaining. I gave it a 3/5 when I reviewed it.

As long as reeling in fish actually works worth a damn in Depth Hunter 2, I should be fine. It's very haphazard and unreliable in the first game. To the point that it's just not fun.

Battlefield 1's campaign feels like a recipe for instant coma noodles.

Kind of funny, I enjoyed Spec Ops The Line despite its bare bones gameplay and then the last Call of Duty I played was Ghosts and it was solid. I guess it's basically the setting and the onslaught of brown sludge in BF1 that bores me to tears. Plus with things like Wolfenstein The New Order with alternate histories and sci-fi diced in, a rumored sequel coming up, I just don't think I need to bother with BF1.

I clearly played the better EA shooter campaign last year... Titanfall 2. Not to mention all this followed up on Doom. BF1 doesn't compare at all.

Yeah when your gameplay is solid, but pretty generic, you need that good writing to pull you through like in Spec Ops case.

I think one of the writers behind it is working on Battlefront 2, so that's interesting.

I would say that it's still an average game and the plot shouldn't matter (haven't played it, though), but then I realize that I actually quite enjoyed my playthrough of Shadow Madness on PSX, which is quite honestly a terrible game with a fun story.

Not sure who you're talking to, but I've been wanting to check Shadow Madness out sometime.
