Do you want advice on equipment for him or want to go at it alone.

Actually don't you have to have a certain equipment set to win?

I have the correct equipment set, I just have a problem dodging certain things and avoiding other things, before my life runs out. I have come very close, but I just haven't quite nailed it yet. I need to memorize a pattern I think.

I've put this in as a spoiler for equipment set:
I had a lot easier time of it using the Silver armor, rather than the Battle armor.

Yup, that's what i'm wearing. Just having a hard time with the mechanics of the battle. Maybe my reflexes have gotten soft hehe. I brought my PSP in to work today, so i'm gonna try to win it at lunch time.

Success! It just took more tries, and a less tired mind/body than last night at 1AM. :)
Had a great time with the game. I wouldn't have thought of playing it most likely, if it wasn't for together retro too.. now I have a desire to see more of the series!

You are aware that there's two completely different games called Ys IV, right? Can't have a JRPG series without some kind of chronological confusion!
Yeah, I know, been using the rather excellent HG101 article as a guide to the series, but thanks for the tip anyway :) Which version are you going to play? I'll probably go with the TG16, since that console was kind of the basis of my experience with the series. I hear there's a translation patch, so I shouldn't have any trouble.

I'll probably the the TG16 version first. Ideally I would play through the series in order, but instead I'm simply playing them in the order that I can find the games. So I'll most likely play part 7 before I get to any of the Japan-only releases. I just finished VI, it was decent.

I've got a couple weeks left... Might as well tackle this game sometime this week and get it over with.
