Alright, I'm officially nominating Virtua Fighter 1.

It's on the Arcade, 32X, Saturn, and PS2 (VF 1 is on Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution- the greatest hits edition).

VF 5 apparently..
360 version has online. I don't know what the deal is. Blame Sega.

...And I think the PS3 version is like a direct port of the arcade so I don't know if they could add online features or not.

It came out on the PS3 first then with the 360 version they added online as well as better AI and some other extra crap.

since we're nearing page 20, I guess I'll try to organze my preferences...

Jan: Adventure – Golden Axe Warrior (this is the one game I really want to put my weight behind. I started it up a couple months ago and was like "no way! I'm not even gonna play this now! I want this to be a TR game so we can all love it together.")

Feb: Fighter – Guilty Gear (if we go 2D), Dead or Alive 2 (if we go 3D)

Mar: RPG – Dragon Quest, Skies of Arcadia, SaGa, Ultima, Grandia 2 (but really I think the majority wants a WRPG, so I have no preference there since I know nothing about them).

Apr: Sports or Racing - Sega Rally (if racing), Virtua Tennis (if sports)

May: FPS – though Wolf3D is not my preference, I'll stand behind DSH's insistance since it comes from good reason.

Jun: Strategy – Advance Wars, Yggra Union

Jul: Runngun or beatemup – Gunstar Heroes (if run-n-gun), Guardian Heroes (if beatemup)

Aug: Party game – Space Channel 5

Sep: Platformer – Out of this World

Oct: Horror-related – (no preference. I think any of the titles nominated would be great choices)

Nov: Puzzle – (no preference, I generally enjoy all puzzle games)

Dec: Shmup – (Gunbird II was my nomination, but no real preference since I just love shmups in general -- though I do think that DDP or Ikaruga might be a little high-priced considering people shot down my Skies of Arcadia nomination and that game generally goes for less...)

P.S I was under the impression that Gunbird 2 was also rather pricy. Ikaruga (at least here) isn't CRAZY priced on Gamecube, although it isn't cheap either, but it's also on XBLA for quite cheap.

R Type & Fantasy Zone are on loads of stuff for a decent price :p. Whilst I agree a more modern shmup might be fun, they seem to all go for rather high prices.

I don't care what shmup we play really, but like Dsh pointed out -- R-Type and Fantasy Zone are both horizontal. It'd be really nice to do a vertical shmup instead for a change.

How about Star Soldier? 1942? Xevious? Raiden?

BTW, I have no idea on prices for these, I just know they have a ton of ports.
