Sonic Generations
Re: Sonic Generations
I basically started and finished this game in one day...not because it is unreasonably short (it took ~6-7 hours), but because it is awesome.
The final boss fight is the only lame part of the game, and the rest of it is magnificent!
Also, is it weird that I beat a Sega game on a Windows platform that was running in bootcamp on a Macbook...with a DualShock3 controller?

Up until the part you're at, that is. Go back in and you'll unlock Super Sonic. He's more lackluster than you can possibly imagine.

I agree. I pretty much played it every chance I got until it was beat. But yeah the last boss is a pushover. Oh well. Other than that, amazing game. (How come it's not on yr games beaten list yet?)

I generally post 2 or 3 games at a time, instead of posting every time I beat something.noiseredux wrote:. (How come it's not on yr games beaten list yet?)

Re: Sonic Generations
Now that you guys mention the games beaten thread, I kind of want to hurry up and finish this now so I can squeeze one last game into the games beaten thread before the new year. This would be a great way to finish the year with such a great game
Course it'd be a great game to start with for the 2012 games beaten thread too. I probably would have finished this already if I didn't get sidetracked by Rayman Origins

It makes me smile to see naysayers everywhere are playing this game and falling in love with it.

Re: Sonic Generations
what's really F'd up is that I enjoyed it so much that I almost want to go back and play the horrible games I missed just to try them. I guess I'm now even more curious to see all the missteps and maybe see any brief glimpses of the future awesome. I feel like Sonic 2006 and Unleashed go for like $6 used don't they?

'06 goes for $10 and over. I think Unleashed is cheap though.noiseredux wrote:what's really F'd up is that I enjoyed it so much that I almost want to go back and play the horrible games I missed just to try them. Re: Sonic Generations
So I just tried a few rounds in the demo to get a better feel for the game and this is what I think:
The Green Hill remix music is fucking amazing
I'd rather play on PC but I'm sure my computer won't run it, the PS3 version looks a bit blurry
I don't mind the jumping as much as I mind Sonic's movement. He doesn't feel quite as nimble, rather, it feels like there's weird acceleration in his movement. Like he moves a bit slower then suddenly accelerates quicker.
I still don't like the newer Sonic levels.

I basically did this when I had a MBP. You may also be interested in the fact that Mac OS supports the DS3 as a bluetooth gamepad out of box, and combined with Controller Mate it's by far the best controller for Mac.dsheinem wrote:I basically started and finished this game in one day...not because it is unreasonably short (it took ~6-7 hours), but because it is awesome.

Older. Not wiser.
