And you bought a Pico. We already know your judgment is compromised.

I'd also much rather have a CD-I and Jaguar than Xbox One and PS4.

It's ok, CFFJR can go hang out with Hobie and not enjoy good games while we have a party over here.

That's ok. Hobie's good people, I'll hang out with him.

...

Then again, Hobie doesn't like Sonic at all.

He's one of the administrators at the Nintendo re-education camps. Don't let him into your mind.

I'm curious, why do you feel this way?

I feel the same exact way. I grew up with Super Mario Land 2 and Super Mario World and Yoshi's Island. I kept replaying SML2 and YI, but I just found SMW so......bland. Good enough for a single playthrough but nothing more. Then I played SMB3 as an adult and my mind was blown away. This felt like a game on par with SML2 and YI when it comes to imagination, and I couldn't believe it was done on an 8-bit console.

I also found it a lot more challenging, which I don't know if it's true or it's just me.

I knew I should have finished you when I had the chance back in 98.

Playing S&K without lock on, was like being 14 again.
The cryptic Sandopolis, the stone guy fight (I was making the same mistake I made the first time, lol), resolving the puzzles inside the piramid. The Lava Reef zone, the fight against Eggman (jump, jump, jump). Off course the epic fight against Knuckles. The Sky santuary (one of my least favorite stages in the game btw) and the Metal Sonic encounter.

I was halfway through the Death Egg act 1 when the AC installer rang the bell. Oh well finishing this adventure will have to wait till next Sunday. Start all over, like a man.

I beat the game with all the emeralds as Knuckles today, meaning I've done it as all 3 characters now: Image

Knuckles campaign was kinda meh overall - I liked that Carnival Night was much shorter as Knuckles, but the missing bosses and some of the other redesigned stages (like Lava Reef and Angel Island 2) were pretty bad. I encountered more than one point where they hadn't accounted for Knuckles aswell, where he couldnt make a jump necessary to continue. I managed to fluke through or work around those issues though.

I've warmed up to Sonic 3 a bit since I started, but I definitely think it's the weakest of the Mega Drive games. I'm happy to have finally experienced Hyper Sonic, Super Tails and Hyper Knuckles though.

I might do a run through Sonic 2 as Knuckles next weekend if I can be bothered. I might just move on at this point though.

I loaded up S&K on my Shield last night to see if maybe it was just the Sonic 3 levels I hated. Nope. I hated the first S&K level as well. Trying to run and weird vines pulling you like a rubberband. Ugh. I just can't enjoy these games.

Dude, a simple spin dash is all you need to get out of those vines.

Were you just expecting S&K to be as easy as Sonic 1 and Sonic 2?
