Just get a flashcard and download some games for DS. New Super Mario Bros is a brand new mario game.

You should buy the PS4 so you can post a picture of an MSRP purchase in the "look what I found" thread and then double post it a few minutes later in the "games acquired 2013" thread.
I was planning to put it in the "look what i found" only. but ok.
I'm going to stop you right here: Dsh was making a joke about the posting habits of certain members here. He was in no way actually encouraging people to post your purchases in five different threads.
The 'but ok' part was me contemplating wither it was serious or not. It does get annoying seeing the same in both those topics though.

Can we just talk about the PS4, please? How the hell did we go from Sony consoles to Nintendo games?

If she wants to make futile generalizations about things she doesn't know then let her. Anyways, do you think Wolfenstein is going to be released day one?

I can't quite understand why Sony doesn't have a good day one line up.
Xbox: Shitty console, great line up
Sony: Better console, shitty line up

I'v been wanting to try Super Mario Galaxy, from what i'v seen of it, it looks fun as hell. But 20 bucks isn't cheap...20 bucks is usually all I have to spend on games, so I would rather walk away with a stack of games then a single game. Maybe if some fool is selling it for 5 bucks or I happen to have some extra cash...till then I'm not getting it.
I'm trying to give the DS a chance but it's hard...I really come across some shit piles when looking for DS games. The Wii...some games are fun on it but the motion control is just a deal breaker for me...I'll never get over it so it ruins the system for me.
Where are you looking for games? If it's thrift stores, pawn shops, and yard sales, it's pretty much a crapshoot, as you're going to run into more shovelware than quality games. At least in my neck of the woods, the thrift stores have dried up when it comes to games and systems, and the pawn shops are a mixed bag. That, and the independent game shops here overcharge for a lot of games. I'm with you in that I prefer to spend as little on possible on games. I don't like to spend more than $20 at once, but at least consider spending the full price. It is worth it.
I don't necessarily agree with your opinion on the Wii, but I do understand where you're coming from. I recently bought a Playstation console for the first time. There's a lot I don't like about the controller. It feels small in my hand, I don't like the space in the middle of the D-Pad, and the analog sticks don't feel tight enough for my liking. That said, those problems go away once I got into the games. I would've missed out on the Sly and Ratchet & Clank series if I didn't look past it. Even on the Wii, there are some instances where the motion control is annoying, but the games as a whole are worth it. All I am getting at is to try to not let something like motion controls get in the way of experiencing an entire library.
@oxymoron: Apologies for the topic detour. What launch games were you looking into?

There are smart and reasonable ways to critique both modern and retro gaming, and there are knee-jerk, emotional, blathering ways to do so as well. I think we've always "eviscerated" people who favor the latter approach, regardless of the subject.
Pretty much.
If you don't want confrontation, a good place to start might be to avoid having a confrontational tone. Wild generalizations and confident opinions about things you can't effectively back up don't really fly well here (or most anywhere else for that matter).
Also, "I have zero interest in the Wii U and its tablet controller" is infinitely less confrontational than "Wii U is shit (I haven't played it or even held the controller btw)" and you'll catch a lot less crap for it I think.

Why is the console shitty besides the forced kinect? I can understand those who dont care for the Kinect. Otherwise, as far as hardware, the PS4 and XB1 are fairly similar.
