it's a great guide. And I'm glad you made this. Really helps me out.thelolotov wrote:Same here, which is why I wrote the guide this way.sp957 wrote:I always liked my systems output to be non-modded and native outputs. I really would not like going through the process of modding the console and buying converters and scalers.
I was a little confused with the Sega Genesis for model II on this guide. I always thought the best non-modded output would be the standard AV (Red, white, and yellow cable).
But it looks like you could use RGB unmodded? I'm guessing it requires some converter box that does for around 40-50 dollars?
Awesome guide btw!
Yes, for most Americans, composite is the best you're gonna get without expensive hardware, but then this wouldn't be "Best Video Connections", would it? :3
I just made this as an absolute reference for best, one day I might expand it a bit to cover all possible outputs from a console. Or more realistically, all unmodded outputs, and then the best mods.
only minor suggestion I have is including the best "quick cable/cord" (u could probably find better wording). This would be the best output connections that only require buying one cord that don't require boot discs or converter boxes for non nodded consoles. And add a note if a certain region requires extra hardware for a better native and unmodded output.
I might consider getting scart on a Genesis if I can use the same converter box for a Saturn.
