Summer Games Challenge 2015
Re: Summer Games Challenge 2015
Phantasy Star II will infuriate you far more than Final Fantasy IV.

I think noise started PSII a long time ago.
But yeah, FFIV is about a trillion times more accessible.

Re: Summer Games Challenge 2015
I must have had a lot of free time as an eleven year old, because I beat PS2 at that age without a walkthrough or strategy guide. I don't remember it being as big an ordeal as the internet makes it out to be. I do remember it being grindy, but not overly difficulty insofar as you grinded your characters up properly. But that's true of a lot of old JRPGs, not just PS2.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.

Re: Summer Games Challenge 2015
basically I'm only gonna do this if I can come up with a list of 10 games that I actually feel excited about playing and that are ones I think are realistic to manage to beat within the 3 months even if juggling TR games and possibly new releases. So...BoneSnapDeez wrote:noise, do Bonk! I am doing Bonk.

I really like FFII. I can't wait to read your thoughts on it.Sload Soap wrote:Final Fantasy with Elder Scrolls levelling? What could possibly go wrong?
I may mistaken, but if you purchased a new copy of the game, it came with a map and strategy guide of sorts. I was fortunate to find a dog-eared copy of the pack-in strategy guide when I was playing the through the game a few years ago. It made the game much, much more manageable.Exhuminator wrote:I must have had a lot of free time as an eleven year old, because I beat PS2 at that age without a walkthrough or strategy guide.
You can beat Bonk in less than an hour, and I was able to get through the game on my second attempt. It is fun; it is not very challenging; and I suspect it is perfect for your list.noiseredux wrote:basically I'm only gonna do this if I can come up with a list of 10 games that I actually feel excited about playing and that are ones I think are realistic to manage to beat within the 3 months even if juggling TR games and possibly new releases. Also, and for the record, the following games:
Devil May Cry 3
Dynamite Headdy
Faxanadu
Jak & Daxter
King of Fighters 2002
Mega Turrican
Ratchet & Clank
Sly Cooper & The Thievius Racoonus
...are not classics.

Gotta disagree with you on Sly, Ratchet and Jak personally.prfsnl_gmr wrote: Also, and for the record, the following games:

I feel Faxanadu and Dynamite Headdy are debateable too.
My list is below, but I want some opinions:
Would people consider any of these following games more classic than some of the ones on my list already:alienjesus wrote: 1. Shenmue (DC)
2. Fire Emblem: Ankoku ryuu to Hikari no Ken (FC)
3. Kingdom Hearts (PS2)
4. Banjo Tooie (N64)
5. Metroid Zero Mission (GBA)
6. Metal Gear Solid 3 (Vita)
7. The G.G. Shinobi (GG)
8. Super Aleste (SNES)
9. Saturn Bomberman (Saturn)
10. The Curse of Monkey Island (PC)
The Mystical Ninja starring Goemon (N64)
Survival Kids (GBC)
The Adventure of Lolo 2 (NES)
Rastan (SMS)
Also not sure whether to stick with Kingdom Hearts as my RPG or swap it for Final Fantasy VIII on PS1 instead.
