Re: Is Fire Emblem Awakening out of stock forever?
One skill that everybody should think about trying to get for their children is gale force. It's a skill available to Pegasus Knights if they promote to Dark Riders I think. It's possible to pass this on not just to female kids, but males as well.
If any of you have played Jeanne D' Arc on the PSP, gale force is similar to an overpowered ability she had access to in that game. It grants you an extra turn if you kill someone in combat. Great for mopping up extra enemies or just covering more distance for your unit before the enemy turn. I abused the hell out of this on Lunatic with three different characters(Olivia, Lucina, and Cordelia). Well four actually, but the fourth character was a little underpowered so I didn't use him much. It was a difference maker. When you've got one pesky enemy you need out of your way, but another one is about to kill off one of your weaker units, gale force will save the day. Two birds, one stone. What's great is that if you're using a paired unit, you can switch characters on that second turn giving you more offensive options.

I'll keep you informed on my game, then. I've played girls-side dating sims, so no qualms from me...Gamerforlife wrote:I would love to know what kind of pairings other players had, since marriage is such a big part of the game. It's almost like this whole fun, separate thing to enjoy in the game, apart from the strategy gameplay. I actually plan on having two saves when I do my Lunatic+ run, one for each of my favorite girls that I mentioned above. I don't think I'll ever play as a female avatar. I'm a dude and I just find it kind of awkward I guess LOL
I may be using a female avatar, but it seems like Chrom is the hero of the game. If I decide not to pair them up, I can play both sides

That sounds fun. There certainly are upsides to playing as a female, it's just not something I typically do in rpgs. I never used FemShep in Mass Effect either, but people seem to love Jennifer Hale's voice acting in those games.Valkyrie-Favor wrote:I'll keep you informed on my game, then. I'm actually impressed by some of the character models for the female avatar in Fire Emblem, some cool character designs you can get for her.

Re: Is Fire Emblem Awakening out of stock forever?
I started this up last night. I think I'm on Ch. 3, and so far... it's really excellent. So far it seems to be EXACTLY what I want in a SRPG - meaning, really good battle system and no exploring towns or anything between. (Are all the FE games like this?) Normally, the story wouldn't concern me too much but I must say the anime cut scenes are so nice that it keeps me interested. I also decided to play it on Classic as I figured that losing my characters for good would get me more invested as well (obviously playing Enemy Unknown so much was an influence here).

You should try Shining Force CD, it has the fun SF battle system and no town exploration. Same with Tactics Ogre, which you should know by now is one of my favorite games.noiseredux wrote:I started this up last night. I think I'm on Ch. 3, and so far... it's really excellent. FE:A is excellent though. I thoroughly enjoyed my playthrough.

SFCD I've not yet played, as it's a pricier SCD game. Though I would def love to hold of that one as I'm certainly a fan of the series.Jmustang1968 wrote: You should try Shining Force CD, it has the fun SF battle system and no town exploration. Tactics Ogre I've played, along with the GBA sequel. Great games.

Re: Fire Emblem Awakening: The thread of the game
I've really enjoyed Fire Emblem awakening as well. I have put about 75 hours into the game and am still leveling up my guys and figuring out which classes to upgrade to. This game is very addictive in its fast paced leveling structure and wealth of unique characters. I have also got strong enough to recruit some of the better characters including King Marth, Roy, Leif, and Sigurd.
Re: Is Fire Emblem Awakening out of stock forever?
This game is one of my favorite games on the system. I love the deep rewarding gameplay and as you pointed out, the cut scenes and story sequences are also really good.noiseredux wrote:I started this up last night. I've become a new fan of the series and can't wait to see what's next for the franchise. In the meantime I will be sure to play some more of the earlier installments. >=]
