I think the ending in alternate universe was a little meh
the on island ending I enjoyed. If they would of just nixed the alternate universe bs and stuck with the island I think it would of been a better season. Knowing those few escaped and closing with Jack's death.
Someone was mentioning why doesn't Locke just get all smokey on Jack's ass. I'm guessing when the light went out so did his smoke power. After the light went out he was able to be hurt and later killed.
But you see, they never explained why the light turned MIB into a smoke monster. We don't even know if the light DID turn him into a Smoke Monster. We just know he went into the cave, died and somehow became immortal and Smokey after that. In fact, what is the signifigance of that smoke form? Why of all the things he could turn into, the writers chose a cloud of smoke that makes machine-like sounds? WTF!? And explain to me why he didn't just DIE when the light went out. If the light made him able to turn into Smoke, then it should also be what resurrected him after Jacob killed him and should be the reason he is able to take the form of the dead. That means he should no longer have looked like Locke when the light went out and he shouldn't even have still been alive. I still don't know how the guy got all these abilities. Jack and Desmond went in the cave and didn't get super powers. And who the hell were those dead bodies in the cave. WTF!? WHY DO THE WRITERS CONSTANTLY KEEP THROWING RANDOM SHIT IN EVERY EPISODE THAT THEY HAVE NO INTENTION OF EXPLAINING!? DAMNIT!?
After the finale, NOTHING on the show makes any sense. Everyone is saying Jack was meant to go to the island and he represents the victory of faith in the faith vs reason/science argument. No he doesn't. He thought he was MEANT to detonate the hydrogen bomb and you know what? The bomb did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING since we know now that it didn't create the sideways reality. Juliet died for nothing and I honestly don't know why Sawyer HASN'T killed Jack. It took a lot less for Locke to convince Sawyer to kill his dad.
Was Jack MEANT to become Jacob and fight Smokey. Well since Smokey kicked his ass, Hurley became Jacob, and it was Kate that actually killed Smokey, I'd say no. Anyone could have made the choice that Jack made to become Jacob and fight Smokey, Jack wasn't meant to do shit. He was just as delusional as Locke was. He wasn't even right about Demond. And what the hell was so important about stopping Smokey and protecting the island anyway. If the island sinks, so what? We don't even know why that has global importance. And personally, I WANTED Smokey to escape the island. He's been forced against his will to stay there since he was born by evil people like his mom and his crazy brother Jacob. I'm suppossed to be rooting for Jack to kill him? Well, if that is what the writers wanted they shouldn't have shown us the previous episode which only made me sympathize with the man in black.
I swear the writers had NO FRIKKIN IDEA what they were doing this season
Some of the questions you guys asked in previous posts HAVE been answered though. The polar bears are because of the Darma experiments, which explain ALL strange animal related activity on the island. And a lot of kingmohd84's questions have already been answered but I'm not in the mood to address them all now, maybe in a future post
