I'm back...

Sorry, I have not been on the site in about a month - lots of personal stuff.
We came into a great deal on a house, it was a buy it now or forever loose it, so we had to move quickly. The story is someone I know through coaching and teaching (a student's parents) contacted me since I do not live in my district and offered me a house for 50k less than the lower tier market value it at if we cleaned it up. It was a win-win, we could never afford a house like it without the discount and the person in charge of the estate did not have the money to do all the repairs/cleaning. The house needed lots of work, plus we already had a house. So I have been spending all my time getting the old house ready to sell, replacing/refinishing all the floors in the new house and scrubbing the walls bare (heavy smoker lived in it). We were under a time constraint because we only had a small window to get everything done before school started for both me and my kids (our old house is 40 min away from the district) and we moved in the Saturday before school started. And by we it was just me and a friend for 3 UHaul truck loads of stuff and then I had a couple more people help with the appliances.

So right now with me bringing home the only paycheck, we have two houses and I am on the verge of double house payments, something I can not really afford on a teacher's salary since my wife stays home with the kids that are not yet in school.

So we are penny pinching and I just got internet again, needed it for school purposes, so I will be able to join. BUT I still have a lot of personal stuff going on like trying to sell two house, maybe rent one, working and working on the new house... In the end it will be worth it since we moved our family of six from a 3 bedroom 1 bathroom 1k square foot house on a .05 acre lot to a 5 bedroom 3 bathroom house, where the kitchen alone is half the size of our old house, on a .75 acre lot. So please excuse me if I am not on the net and gaming that much. I somewhat forgot about this since I signed up for the tournament in May and didn't hear anything over the next two months. I also apologize that I disappeared, everything happened so fast and I had to act fast.

For the record Blu did reach out and I did talk to him. I will be back up-and-running soon.

For anyone interested here are some before and after pics of the upstairs and downstairs family rooms:

Blu got me 2-1

I completely abandoned my old decks and went w/my new Aggro Paladin. First match I was aggressive early and was worried about an Ironbark on turn 8, but he didn't have it and I was able to Arcane Golem / Blessing of Kings combo for the win.

Second match was a slugfest - by turn 12 we were both down to 1-2 cards in our hands. He had a couple Haunted Creepers and Sapling Roots he was able to Savage Roar x2 to close it out around turn 18. He had a +5 heal card that brought him back from 8 health to 13 and it completely changed my strategy - was a fun fun match and kudos to him for biding his time until he could roll me at the end.

Third match he played really well - controlling my field. I kept my Quartermaster at the draw but he wouldn't let me build anything up - knowing my deck now he knew I really couldn't drop anything big if he just rode it out. I was waiting for Muster for Battle / QM combo, but I never drew either of them. He played some strategic taunts and was the better player that game. Hindsight 20/20 I should have switched decks that 3rd match to my Aggro Hunter which can silence and damage minions much more easily than this deck.

Really fun matches and Blu played extremely well.

+1 Mike.

Mike also played really well, he's being modest. The first match wasn't even close. I had changed up my decks to an aggro token deck with some of the new expansion cards, I wanted something new. He rolls in and controls the board entirely. I think I damaged his face with like 2 damage. He had minions that were buffed with blessing of kings, divine shield, etc. I decided to roll it out and see if the deck was any good against his paladin deck. Fortunately I got some good draws but honestly it could've been any player's match, it definitely was an equal pairing.
