Erm, actually, no. Most of us prefer a quiet forum where folks know each other, argue constructively and respectfully, and are generally just positive contributors.

We'd love to have you join in to that discord, but the post above suggests you're going to engage otherwise, and if that's the case, then you will best serve everyone to go to those other forums you are referencing.

No, it means we have nice users who aren't raging fanboys.

TheRev is really shaping out to be the antithesis of what this board has traditionally stood for.

That said, i really appreciate the respected precedent that he has to actually violate established rules in order to get banned and not just get the boot on the grounds of being a contrarian douche-nozzle. I trust he'll either shape up (not likely) or ship out (possible), or cause himself to be justifiably dismissed soon enough (most likely). From what I've seen so far, it's just a matter of time, really.

No personal insults. Direct personal insult of another member, i.e., "You are an idiot." and all the variations

Try to create meaningful post titles

As a side-note, I'm lobbying to have the use of the word "douche-nozzle" be an instant ban around here.

I always thought the forums were pretty active myself, Rev or no Rev.

Some of those rules are subjective and offer wiggle room. He'll violate some more clear cut ones soon enough, I'd guess.

For example, to my mind "contrarian douche-nozzle" is more of a friendly term of endearment meant to engender jovial repartee than it is a "direct personal insult" made in anger or to cause offense.
