Broken game design absolutely destroys my soul.

Anyone remember this game? Anyone remember trying to do the optional side quests?

For those that don't know, Naughty Dog put in some side quests for extra Precursor Orbs, which could be used to unlock bonuses. Some were tedious, some were absolutely broken; It's very indicative of the game's overall quality, really. (This is coming from someone that thinks the game is, despite some huge flaws, a great 3D platformer.)

Onto the moment: I attempted one of the "race this CPU character on a jetski" side quests, but, as I learned, even a perfect run doesn't net you the win; You have to keep trying until the CPU racer gets caught on something. Well, after numerous tries, I got my chance, and I was nearing the finish line - NEARLY DONE - when my vehicle tapped the wall and came to a complete halt. The CPU racer swooped right by at the last minute. I wanted to scream, but I just sat there, staring downward. My heart and my resolve were broken.

To this day, I have written the game's bonus content off as a complete lost cause -- Nothing but a pipedream. One day, I'd like to play through the story mode again for fun, and then, as my revenge, I'd like to peruse the available Codebreaker codes.

There is no need to rationalize the torture of broken game design.

The perfect game, Naughty Dog.

Worst damage I've ever done was breaking an SNES cart from throwing it against the wall. Happened to be Lufia & The Fortress of Doom. I was 9 at the time and I have ADHD which was REALLY bad when I was that age. Made it harder to control my temper. Ive only broken 1 controller and it was a PS2 one. Don't recall what game was the reason. I threw an Xbox 360 controller while playing Star Ocean; hit the console and fucked the disc to an unplayable condition.

I don't get mad at games any more, I've learned to just laugh and move on.
