PC version here, I don't have a 360 but if I did I'd probably pick PC anyway for shit like custom maps.

PC is a no brainer. If anyone actually picks it up for a console, they deserve the $10 extra cost and complete fucking lack of free DLC and patches. Valve treats you right, but only on PC. People at Valve and other developers have explained what a headache it is to get through Microsoft's patch screening process. I don't know how things work on PS3, but I didn't hear about any downloads for Orange Box on there either.

PC. Probably not at launch, since I haven't got a lot of extra cash, but definitely on the PC.

It's same for PS3 as well. Sony made a one-off example for UT3 but even that is very 'tricksy' to get set up and only certain mods will work. Plus you get the added 'bonus' of the Blu-ray drive slowing loading to a halt. Not to mention the shitty control scheme.

I'm going to wait for a retail copy. I really can't be bothered with buying from Steam. It took me weeks to get The Orange Box when I bought it a few weeks ago. I'm on 5mbps broadband as well.

360 version...mainly because I haven't had a great pc for years. Defintely prefer fps on pc, but this game is so frantic, and forgiving with aiming, I'm not worried about gamepad controls. Friends are also all on Live anyway.

So THAT's why the 360 and even moreso the PS3 versions look like the video game equivalent of a abortion, from what I've heard. Not many patches so you can exploit a bunch of bugs in the console versions you can't in the PC version, and of course there's no class updates or custom maps or server mods. I find it very amusing that on a console where achievements seem to be so important, the PC version has like what, 3-4X as many now? And hopefully more soon.

So game is awesome, but matchmaker is dogshit. I'll never understand why Xbox gets solid matchmaking, but there's never been a PC game to do it right...

The most annoying thing, now that matchmaking mostly works, is the difficulty. There is a HUGE gap between Advanced and Expert. Anything below Expert is way too easy, but on Expert, I think the AI Directer just decides what the most annoying thing it could send at the human players would be. Half the team is dead/down and the other half has shit health? TIME FOR A TANK. One person left that somehow managed to kill the Tank alone? Here comes a Smoker/Hunter. I've only got to the end on Expert a few times, usually only when we get lucky enough for not many boss zombies to spawn.

Still great though. I can't believe I haven't already gotten bored of these two levels. Can't wait for the full version, so I can see what happens at the end of the No Mercy chapter the demo starts at. I figure either they somehow don't get evacuated, or they do, and the next chapter disregards it and starts anew.

I should have the first two levels completely mastered, and the basic strategy mastered as well by the time the full version comes out. I've determined doors are awesome on expert mode. If there's a huge swarm coming, just run for a door you can safely go behind and close, it shouldn't be hard to kill them all before the door breaks, and in that case just find another door. Cars can be pretty useful too, because you can just melee any zombie trying to get to you. The best though is that one train or whatever in the area with the cars. Just hop up there, and it's easy to knock them off and you're completely safe unless they climb up. But usually if you're that close to the subway you should just make a run for the saferoom, with decent health and a lot of shoving it's not hard to get past the crowd that usually waits there.
