Heck, games have typically done well in failing economic conditions. Even during the Japanese market failures of the 1990s, the video game companies were going strong.

I remember when the PS2 came out, the game selection was just terrible. I remember how sad I was when so many people waited for the PS2 and ignored the Dreamcast, even though the Dreamcast had a killer collection of games. I finally broke down and got the PS2 in late 2002, but part of the reason was the the DVD, which my family did not have at the time.

Eventually the PS2 got many killer apps, and I expect that the PS3 will too.

Heck I even own a ps3!
Yeah, and I own stock for hurting corporations- what's your point? What can you expect in a worldwide economic crisis?

My point is that im not a xbox fan bashing the ps3. And im not sure that the ps3 will in the end sell more then the xbox 360. I had high hopes that ps3 would dominate this generation (wii not included) but i dont think its going to happen.

Very true. Why make non-BC system when games are still being made for the previous one. Actually, now that I look at it, the PS2 is getting better exclusives than the PS3! Sony should continue to market the PS2 to game compaines, so they can keep money coming in, despite the PS3's severe lack of popularity. I don't like Sony. They killed the Dreamcast, and I will never forgive them for that. While the PS2 is a great system in it's own right, I shall forever hate sony themselves.

It kinda is when it's been lasting for a while now... and the console (other than the wii, of course) that's doing the best is a western one (which used to be completed unheard of in japan). That's what makes it noteworthy.
Don't that just look oh so tasty?

Well, besides the world right now being in a total dark hole money wise...i think the ps3 will be fine. Ive owned 2 360s...or was it 3? 2 wiis, i just ordered my 2nd 80 gig ps3. Why?....hotshots golf. Yep sounds kinda gay, but if i sit back and think about all the time me and my friends, which...now one lives on the other side of the USA, the other i see maybe once a month, sat around and played on the ps2...i had to buy another one.

So think about how many people out there are just like me wanting to play that ONE title with the guys they have known for 10+ years. Trust me sony will be fine. 9 out of 10 people that had a ps1...went to a ps2, maybe not in the first year or 2....but they did in the end upgrade.
Yep, I know im the one ya love to hate.

Sorry, real quick, lost_within why do you have two Wiis? I understand the 360s, but did you have some kind of hardware issue, or did you just want a second one for some reason?

Also, what is the plural form of Wii?
