Top 10 Most Overrated Games

He should have just called it '10 games people really like, but I don't' and his site should be called 'Shitting on things for page hits'.

You read my mind. I was going to add in my previous post, 'I think a better title for a 'top ten overrated games' list would be 'top ten games I don't like as much as everybody else'

Though, in this case, that wouldn't be suitable either, because it isn't true. Reason being because they are living up to the site's namesake - I think Old-Wizard is actually a spelling mistake; I think the original title was supposed to be what Bootaaay just proposed - but those boys have never been known for their literacy skills.

Personally, I think, in general, Old-Wizard do not like difficult games. I do realize this sounds like I'm being spiteful towards them, but I can't say it without being frank. I'd say it is evident in their lists.
Lastly, in general, Sega Genesis games tend to be more difficult than SNES games - though I do not hold to the view that SNES is a kid's console.

For that reason, along with childhood grudges, they genuinely don't like most Sega Genesis games.

This list is terrible. Yeah a few games on there are a bit over-hyped. But Gunstar Heroes doesn't fail at anything as suggested. It is hyped, but for good reason. It's great.

And Shining Force? Are you kidding. The dialog is funny, the battles are challanging, and the story has a good mythology. I've never found the game difficult. He must be bitter cause he got beat down by goblins in the first battle. Come on!!!

i think they are just trying to get a rise out of sega fans.

Pardon my french but... what the fuck? Even if you don't like these games you have to acknowledge that there are far worse games.

first of all since I'm recently replayed some of the games he is talking about I can tell that the guy hasn't played the games more than 10 minutes. That's why he remembers the opening mission of gta san andreas (which is huge) and that is why he only knows about the first stage of earthworm jim.

second, most of these games aren't overated. i don't see endless forum threads about these games being the best of all time except mario 64. I've never heard someone prayse tomb raider for it's gameplay before tomb raider legend. and his problem with pokemon is that it doesn't play like final fantasy??? talk about narrow minded.


and last but not least where is halo series (try half life you dawm xbots and speak about fps games), final fantasy 7 (philosophy my ass, wall-e has tought me more about protecting the enviroment) and zelda ocarina of time (yeah it's good but I'm fed up with ninty fanboys trying to shove this down my neck if I say I didn't really enjoy it all that much)

I agree on Mario 64

You can't properly judge Sonic 3 as it was apparently only half a game. Sonic & Knuckles was amazing and revolutionary and the second half of Sonic 3(or so we were told)

Tomb Raider hasn't aged well, but deserves its classic status

Same goes for Prince of Persia, just for its influence.

Earthworm Jim was and STILL is brilliant.

Resident Evil 4 is a nearly perfect game that FINALLY addressed people's complaints about the franchise and FINALLY took it out of rehash land.

Gunstar Heroes is in some ways better than the best Contra and Metal Slug games. Melee attacks, health bar, cool combo weapon system. If anything it is underrated for not being mentioned as often by run'n gun fans as the Contra and Metal Slug series.

I haven't played San Andreas, but I honestly feel like GTA III revolutionized gaming(for better or for worse)and every other GTA afterwords was just rehashing the same formula with some improvements.

Never got into Pokemon. Probably because it got so damn popular I actually found it annoying. Never played a Shining Force game either
