Same here. The most interesting current-gen game to me is MGS4, and I haven't played MGS yet. And I hear the plot is "NANOMACHINES NANOMACHINES NANOMACHINES NANOMACHINES"...
XBLA is actually the only thing I'm really that interested in, I'll probably pick up a 360 when the price comes down. I've already posted like 2 or 3 Wii rants, so no need to repeat it, and the PS3 just doesn't have many games of interest. Uncharted looks interesting, but not something to buy a console for. Warhawk looks pretty awesome, but again, 2 games isn't enough. The rest of the exclusives are either a sequel of a game I haven't beat, RPGs, overrated generic games, or just plain generic games.

You need to know nothing about MGS series to play MGS4, if your curious about something, look it up in the database thats free for download. What about Heavenly Sword, Gran Turismo 5, Motorstorm, LittleBigPlanet, Resistance, Killzone 2, ECHOCHROME, etc.
The sad part is that everything boils down to how much money we have (obvious, I know). If the new systems cost 20 bucks then most of us would probably own all of them. To many people, 400-500 dollars is chump change and they think nothing of plopping that down just for a few early exclusives.
Whay I'm trying to say (and doing a terrible job of it) is that some people are happy to spend well over 1000USD for a single Cave PCB just to own and play a single exclusive game. I don't think they have made a bad choice, it is all just relative. We bicker about when to adopt the new generation but it is always about money and that makes me sad.
And please, I don't want to hear someone say "I wouldn't want a 360 even if it was free," because a real gamer wants to play everything at least once.

All are zzzzzzzzzzzzz, except for LBP, which I am merely intrigued by. ECHOCHROME would be interesting, if I hadn't already played countless more impressive and varied flash games for free.

I'd prefer knowing who everyone is before playing 4; I might not play all of them but I'd like to at least have a good idea of who's who. I'm not too big on hack-n-slash games, and from what I've heard Heavenly Sword is short as well. Never been a big fan of realistic racing games either, I prefer more over-the-top "extreme" racers like F-Zero GX. Littlebigplanet sounds neat but Spore on PC is enough of that sort of game for me. Now I might be missing something huge, but Resistance just seems like another vanilla aliens invade, hold the trigger until the credits roll game. I'm a bit tired of those. Haven't heard of the last two. I'm not saying all of those games are crap, but they're just not enough to convince me to get a PS3. I don't have a stream of money coming from my parents, I think about my purchases. And for me, the 360 seems like a better choice. And don't use a "but the multiplatform games look better on PS3" argument, that means absolutely nothing to me, I have a SD CRT TV.

I'm not really interested in any of the Next Gen systems at the moment. I'm extremely interested in Fables 2 which I think is going to be great. Fables despite all it's flaws was a game I really enjoyed.
I've begun saving up my money so that when the game is released I may purchase a 360. Maybe. We'll see what I think at the point.

OK.
Look at this from my point of view for a second, ignore your rabid Sony fanboyism.
Would you buy a $400+ (might be off on the price there, but whatever) console because you're a bit curious about 3 or 4 games?

Um... I've never heard of a game... or for that matter movie whose plot required you to read something else made by the company to understand the context of the plot(except Donnie Darko... if you can call crap film a movie). That's just garbage screenwriting.
Don't that just look oh so tasty?

No duh, why else would you buy a new console otherwise?
