andymol21, have you tried solving it yourself? I'm just asking because, as I said in another topic sometime ago, my N-Gage also got the WSOD but at the time I'd never heard about it so I just forgot about it and bought a new phone. Almost an year after that I read here in the forums about the WSOD and thinking that it could be the problem with my NG I searched the net looking for a solution and after tinkering with it for a while I managed to bring it back to life, and it's still fine and dandy to this day. Unfortunately I can't remember exactly what I did, but who knows, maybe you can also resurrect yours without paying for a reflash.
Sooo many times. Do you have a QD? I heard that it was easier to get those back from WSOD.NebachadnezzaR wrote:andymol21, have you tried solving it yourself? Nope, original model. I searched the forum and apparently I wrote a post sometime ago explaining exactly what I did. Here it goes:andymol21 wrote:Sooo many times. Do you have a QD? I heard that it was easier to get those back from WSOD.
NebachadnezzaR wrote:What I did was, with the N-Gage turned off, hold the keys green/call, "3" and "*", and then turn it on while still holding the keys. It started up fine but it was too unstable and eventually returned to the dead state and that trick wouldn't work anymore. Then I tried to short-circuit the battery connectors. I don't know if I was successful or not, but then I tried the first method (holding down the keys) and it started up again. This time instead of messing around I immediately did the deep reset method (*#7370#) and it's working well so far. I'm gonna try it out with some n-gage games, but the java and symbian ones I've tried so far worked fine.
