I'm not sure pre-ordering as a whole is completely bad. Some things are really worth pre-ordering because otherwise you almost certainly won't be able to get one otherwise. For example, the Phoenix Wright Figma I ordered back before Xmas finally came the other day, and I really doubt I'd've been able to get one if I hadn't pre-ordered it. Video games, on the other hand, which have far less pieces to lose than a very pose-able toy, I find are very rarely actually worth pre-ordering.Xeogred wrote:Pre-ordering is bad.
I just don't like the idea of paying money down on something you have no idea of the quality of. I'd rather wait until after launch and opinions and videos are well and out there to know whether or not a game is worth picking up or not in the first place. Plus with madness like pre-ordering season passes, the entire business culture around pre-ordering video games is becoming so anti-consumer
More importantly, though, with a backlog of games like I've got (still well over a few hundred), I don't have any good reason to be looking at buying new games anyways
