Metroid: Other M.

I thought it was fun. I prefer the 2.5D gameplay to the 3D style of the Prime series. Adam authorizing use of Samus' weapons was kind of lame but it didn't bother me much.

Totally forgot this one. It's a really fun game, and honestly, get's a lot of unnecessary hate. I own all of the metroids, and it's at least better than Metroid 2 & Hunters.

I second Gex: Enter the Gecko. I have the N64 version, though, but I love it. The controls take some getting used to, but it's still a good one.

Anywho, this is gonna take a while, but here's what I have;

Sonic Spinball (Genesis) - I could literally put any Sonic game here, and people would agree with me; especially with the state the fanbase is currently in. However, this is one I see lots of unnecessary hate for. I used to hate this game, but after playing it a few times, it's now one of my favorite Sonic spin-off games. The pinball feels weird at first, but ya get used to it after a while.

While I'm on the topic of Sonic, I think the first two Riders games, and Sonic Lost World (Wii U and 3DS versions) are both pretty underrated.

Grabbed by the Ghoulies (Xbox) - Why this one is hated, I'll never know. This is a really solid game from Rare, and honestly, it was their last good game, IMO (I would include Perfect Dark Zero in this too, but I haven't played much of that yet, so I haven't formed an opinion on it yet).

Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge (360/PS3/Wii U) - This one gets some love, actually, but I rarely see anything uber positive about it. I recently got this on my Wii U for $8, and I am loving it so far. It's freakin' brutal, though, but I still love it.

Cool Spot (Genesis/SNES) - Obviously, this one isn't terribly hated, since it's on Racketboy's "Cheapest Games" series, but after seeing The Completionist's review on the game, and quite a bit of people hating on it, I gotta include it. One of my favorite games on the Genesis, tbh.

Worms 3D (Gamecube/PS2/Xbox) - Naturally, I love the 2D Worms games much more, but Worms 3D is still a really good game to me, IMO. It's what got me interested in the Worms series to begin with.

Cyborg Justice on the Genesis. The controls suck and its insanely repetitive but it's so much fun to just rip apart the enemies.

Mega Man 5 for the NES. The blackest sheep of the NES titles. It's too easy and too uninspired but it is arguably the most beautiful graphics wise out of the original 6. It's fun to play when I'm in the mood for Mega Man and don't want to be stressed out.

Pac-Man on the Atari 2600. I'm not under any illusion that this is a good version of Pac-Man but it was my first version of Pac-Man and one I played a lot as a child. Nostalgia goggles set to maximum.

Star Fox Adventures for the Gamecube. Yes it's not a traditional Star Fox game and yes it's heavy on the fetch quests but it's a solid Zelda clone. Unlike the other games I've mentioned I'd actually recommend this one. It's a worthy Gamecube exclusive.

Sonic Colors:I have no idea why the Sonic fanbase hates this so much. It is just so, much, fun. It's honestly one of the best titles to come out in the series since Sonic CD, and feels like a return to form.

I thought there was close to universal love for this one? At least compared to most Sonic games.

Shogo: Mobile Armor Division. Pretty sure I'm the only person out there who liked that one : )

I liked it, but I think it was better inside of the mech instead of when you were outside of it. When you were outside of it, the flaws in the LithTech 1.0 engine seemed more apparent, though they weren't nearly as bad as Blood 2.

Yeah it was a fun game, if a little flawed.

I'm another fan of Shogo. I didn't think the majority attitude towards it was negative. It's just sort of forgotten though there's a GoG release now.

This. The flight sequences are a bit of a tease but it's a really fun game when given the chance to stand on its own legs.

I second this. It may be the weakest Star Fox (IMO), but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't good at all.

Shogo actually was very highly praised during its day by critics. It has an 88 Metacritic score for example. I finished it many years ago, and I thought it was a pretty terrible game honestly. The developers had good intentions, obviously anime mecha genre fans, but they were out of their element. The FPS and mech portions were both sub par compared to proper contemporary genre examples I played. The Lithtech engine was not impressive and graphically the aesthetics were all over the place. Level designs were often abysmal leaving the player clueless where to go. And on and on. It was a wannabe game. Shogo did have a decent sense of humor though, I'll give it that.
