I am really ambivalent between the two games. I have a copy of Wild Arms; so, that would be easier for me to play. Picking Grandia, however, would give me an excuse to buy that game.

EDIT: According to my want list, I also have a copy of Grandia...I will have to check on that...

Screw your console flexibility, Dragon Warrior doesn't have regional flexibility! It comes up again and again for Together Retro, but it's still an incredibly difficult game to acquire in Europe.

As a PS1 RPG, Grandia is playable on PS1, PS2, PS3 and digitally on PSP, PSVita and maybe PS4? (Not totally sure on that one). Sure they're all sony consoles, but that's still a lot of systems, and it's not stopped us playing Nintendo games before!

Voted Grandia because it looks great and I've not played it before. Wild Arms is OK, but nothing really special.
Well the Gameboy is region free and Dragon warrior 1+2 on the GBC is pretty cheap, easy to find for under $15. It would be cheaper to import a copy than to buy a copy of Grandia which goes for around $30.

Grandia had a PAL release....... No idea what it costs.

Anyone else got it on Saturn?

No I know, I was just pointing out that importing a US copy of DW1+2 on the GBC would be pretty cheap. Hell if you have a system that can play NTSC NES games the US DQ1 is ridiculously cheap

That's still limiting us to one system, not to mention overseas shipping costs are very high. And since we don't allow PC exclusive nominations, even though everyone here owns a PC, I don't see how we would nominate a game that would only be accessible to us only on 1 console.

On eBay UK I can find plenty of copies of Grandia going for under £20. There are buy it nows for around £12 if I don't mind the greatest hits version.

However, on eBay UK at least it's very hard to find any copies of Dragon Quest 1 for GBC at all. In addition, that doesn't taking into account the cost of international postage and possible customs fees.

Keep in mind a Game Boy game (or a black GBC game like DW 1+2) can be played on a Game Boy, Super Game Boy, Game Boy Color, or Game Boy Player. And that doesn't even include aftermarket Retrons and whatnot.

well if you have a gameboy player or super gameboy it is playable on both the SNES and Gamecube, also you could play it on the Retron 5.

I find it kind of funny that you guys are arguing about a game that's already been voted off the nomination island.
