Problems with Sega-published games on PC seem to be much more developer-related than Sega getting up to any sorts of shenanigans themselves from what I've seen. The Total War series has been touch and go for years. It seems like the pendulum can swing back and forth pretty harshly with those games between good and bad things happening in it. I'm more inclined to place the responsibility for that on Creative Assembly's shoulders.

Then there's Aliens: Colonial Marines, and the less said about that train wreck the better.

Meanwhile, a lot of Sega's own games to appear on PC of late have been pretty great. Binary Domain played well, Sonic All Star Racing Transformed was fantastic, and I quite liked the HD remake of Jet Set Radio.

Maybe Sega could do some more oversight to keep Creative Assembly in line, but squarely placing the Rome 2 DLC debacle on Sega's shoulders clocks in somewhere between silly and disingenuous. The article doesn't even make mention of any involvement from Sega HQ in the matter, and focuses on bad decisions made at CA as being the root cause.

Saying that Sega is bad for PC gaming in the OP just sounds inflammatory and a bit of like someone is trying to start a witch hunt of some sort.

Thread title is totally misleading. Also, this DLC issue is annoying, but no worse than what many other companies have been accused of. And considering Sega is the publisher, not the developer, they are involved, but I'm not sure I'd lay the blame solely on their shoulders.

Tempest in a teapot, frankly.

My older brother plays the crap out of Football Manager. And my younger brother loves Sega's Shogun and Total War series. I'm happy that they are Sega Fanboys and don't even know it. :) They always tease me about being a Sega Fanboy.

I have to say, the PC version of Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed is easily the best version.

Though certain platforms allow multiple item pick up and others don't ... it's kind of weird.
