Re: Today in Crazy
So many things are considered slurs or offensive words to everything these days. And it grows every year. One almost needs a 'Diction Handbook for the Non-Offensive Citizen'Ack wrote:The trans community considers it a slur.Jmustang1968 wrote:Isn't tranny just abbreviated like it is for a transmission or hammy foe a hamstring? Ok, first of all, she's not a "post op trany," she was born female. And second, the term would be "transwoman." The transgendered community finds words like "tranny" offensive.

Or you could just, you know, not use slurs when people point them out to you.
Telling marginalized groups what they should and shouldn't find offense is pretty distasteful in any case.

I'm free all day, I'll spend it watching that porn she made looking for scars because I'm pretty sure your wrong.Ack wrote:Ok, first of all, she's not a "post op trany," she was born female. And second, the term would be "transwoman." The transgendered community finds words like "tranny" offensive.
They'd actually prefer herm, merm and/or ferm and there to be considered 5 sexes instead of the 2 we have now.

Every marginalized group tabbing certain words as blanket slurs or being offensive is distasteful to me. Words aren't shit without meaning or context behind them.AppleQueso wrote:Or you could just, you know, not use slurs when people point them out to you.

I feel everyone, not just marginalized minorities, take more and more offense at things each year. The list of words increases. Then the term changes but the same meaning or hate is behind it so that word is now offensive. Constant cycle, but labeling words as taboo is pointless.

All I know about Tila Tequila is that apparently she previously had a feud with Insane Clown Posse and their Juggalo army?
So yeah.
So yeah.
