Lost Odyssey and Tales of Vesperia were the system sellers for me.
The shmups turned out to be nice bonuses. I knew nothing of bullet hell games until I got a 360. Wild stuff.

Tales of Vesperia is the best RPG I've played on the system, Magna Carta wasn't that good from what I remember. I Just added Lost Odyssey to my collection and already have these: Last Remnant, Blue Dragon, Enchanted Arms which I all enjoyed a lot.
Everything else isn't traditional RPG based but maybe something to poke around with.
Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Two Worlds I & II, Dark Souls, Spectral Force 3 (SRPG), Record of Agarest War (SRPG), KOF:Circle of Doom, Sacred 2.

If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.

Thanks guys for the RPG recommendations.
Any other types of games you feel are worth getting a 360 for?

The Armored Core games on the system are pretty good, but they're also available for the PS3. However, there is an exclusive game from the same developer called ChromeHounds which is pretty good. I hear it really shines in its online mode, but I don't pay for Xbox Live so I wouldn't know. I also second Ryan's suggestion of Crackdown.

This is a hard question as the system has so few exclusives, and many games that were exclusive no longer are. The PS 3 has much more in the exclusive department
The Xbox 360 really is the console for people who just don't want to play stuff on PC or simply don't have a powerful enough PC to run them
I wonder if Xbox One will break this trend. Because as of right now, I feel like the PS 4 will be a better investment for people in the long run

Well, I've decided I'm interested in some XBLA games, Rez HD, and such. I probably won't be buying many games on disk
I wasn't able to buy a $99 Slim at Wal-Mart, and they won't be getting more in stock. Maybe a racketboy member can help me out.

Guilty Gear 2: Overture is a pretty decent spinoff despite what haters say. RTS elements do a good enough job of separating this game from the usual DMC clones. Map designs are large and are fun to run around. Music is likely Ishiwatari's finest compositions to date. Game gets pretty hard later on too.
