Re: XBOX 360 General Discussion
Are you going to hop online and pick up some XBLA games? Or are we speaking strictly physical releases?
Re: XBOX 360 General Discussion
Probably not. I already have Bionic Commando Rearmed, which is fantastic.
But I already have a big enough backlog as it is.

Alright. I have a lot to suggest if you come across that surface to scratch. There have been physical releases of some XBLA games but not many to speak of. Qubed has Rez HD, Lumines Live!, and Every Extend Extra Extreme. Xbox 360 Triple Pack has Limbo, Trials HD and Splosion Man. I recommend those two releases since you get 6 XBLA games in physical format.
I think the next game to be played is Gears of War. Its short and sweet.

This thread probably fits what I'm going to ask so here goes:
Is it accurate that unlike PS+, the free "Games with Gold" that Microsoft has been releasing are "yours" (in the digital sense) and will not go away once your subscription expires, correct?

I've heard its like PS+, however, I've played them when I didn't have internet access, so I'm not all that sure.

^ Interesting - yeah, curious what happens when your subscription runs out and you try to play them while online.
I figured since the titles they were offering (like Crackdown - which was 6 years old at the time) were so much older that it really was just a free giveaway.

Re: XBOX 360 General Discussion
I held off on getting an Xbox 360 for the longest time. Didn't feel I needed what I perceived to be a shitty American bro console. Eventually I purchased one and my love for it led to an original oXbox purchase. Still no interest in "the One" however.
When it's all said and done I may end up liking the 360 more than the PS3. For games that are on both systems I typically go for the 360 version now.
The controller is fantastic, though having to load 2 AA batteries into it every so often is annoying. Maybe I'll upgrade to a wired one eventually.
As far as games go I really dig playing WRPGs on this thing as well as shmups. There are some good compilations that you also can't find on any other system: two from Konami, the Capcom Digital Collection, the Dreamcast Collection, and a Namco comp that I haven't picked up yet.
I picked up Bioshock Ultimate Rapture Edition, which contains the first two games, at a con recently. Games this style typically don't appeal to me, but these look quite intriguing. Maybe I'll get through them before the year is out.
Oh and The Witcher 2 kicks ass. Mandatory game.

As long as you download the games in the window they are free, they are yours. I downloaded Halo 3, deleted it and still have the option to "download again".
Not sure if you can on a silver membership though.

Upgrade to the rechargeable battery pack instead.

These die off semi-quickly though (mine within three months) and I now use wired controllers exclusively, which are worry/hassle free.
