PS3 BD Remote Kills Batteries >:(
Re: PS3 BD Remote Kills Batteries >:(
Yeah, I'm pretty sure I do. I'll double check next time my PS3 is on, just to make sure it still set.

A friend of mine bitched about the same problem.
My remote goes on for a year+
Weird, seems like some kind of bug that they fixed or indeed vice versa.

I use this remote and my PS3 as a media center/Blu-ray/DVD device (which is a lot considering the fam watches Netflix/Hulu/ and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse over and over and over and .... over) and I don't have to replace the batteries that often. I've changed them about 4 times since buying this with the console at launch. Maybe it's that particular remote?

I don't think it's a bug, I think it's because it's also an IR remote. The original PS3 remote was purely for PS3 and it used BlueTooth.
You can argue a BT chip will use more power than IR LEDs .. and you'd be right ... except IR remotes blast the light everywhere and multiple times. So, the IR system in conjunction with the BT chip could be the reason why this thing gets drained so fast.
It's just not that mysterious, I don't think. It makes sense that it wouldn't last as long.
