Yeah, there's a lot of questions raised by the acquisition since, for all his faults as a director, Lucasfilm was clearly a company governed by someone who was creative/artistic-minded first, business-minded second. Disney, unfortunately, has long been the other way around. I'm afraid we'll see Star Wars, Indy, etc. revamped and remarketed in a way that parallels the Muppets: financially successful but without their original soul...

To put it another way, even if people dislike the prequels or Indy 4, they were unmistakeably shaped by Lucas' best and worst creative and artistic impulses and I can appreciate them for that.

A Capcom-style, Lucasfilm, Marvel, Disney cross-over fighter would be incredible...I would buy a PlayStation 4 just to play:

Marvel x Star Wars x Disney x Muppets x Capcom

(Indiana Jones would be an unlockable character...)

EDIT: Forgot about the Muppets, added them. Also, this is Capcom; so, Indiana Jones would be a "downloadable" character.

Even if it stars Miley Cyrus it would still be a huge improvement over Hayden Christensen (He was good in Vanishing on 7th. Street though) and Jake Lloyd  .

I literally yelled at my pregnant wife that a new Star Wars is coming in 2015. She ran in the room thinking something was wrong. I told her "No, everything is completely right".

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh they likely exist. Even if not, there's a billion ways they could do it if they wanted. Even if the negatives are actually destroyed (which I kinda doubt), there's still the inter-positives, and even if that's not an option, there's plenty of high quality prints in the hands of collectors.

The original trilogy doesn't feel like it's been handled with the care it deserves. The effects in the Special Editions are rather poorly implemented, and the blu ray release was struck from the same transfer as the 2004 DVDs, and still have all the same color timing issues and that bizzare blue tint on everything. Not to mention, the fact that Lucas has stood so strongly in the way against proper restorations of the theatrical versions of the trilogy* is outright disappointing to say the least.

*the 'bonus disc' versions that came with one of the DVD releases are struck from very old laserdisc masters, and aren't even in anamorphic widescreen.

I highly suggest looking up the Despecialized HD versions on your local download site.

I've seen those, and they're very well done (and they prove that they very much could do a good restoration without needing the original negatives), but they aren't perfect. I'd gladly support an actual official restoration.

I agree in both aspects. If they gave me the original trilogy on bluray, cleaned up like the Wizard of Oz or Lawrence of Arabia blurays, I would gladly give Disney $100.
