Well, there's the Sony and Microsoft section for the people that play them with incorrect controls and the Personal Computers section for people that play them with the correct controls.
But really, if stuff is divided up too much they'll be empty places with not a lot of traffic IMHO. Also no matter how they're divided up, there's no way to make everyone happy. Things have been working pretty well as is.

I'll talk with Racket, see if we can update the description of those two sections so people won't get confused about where to talk about FPS's.

Splitting out the boards makes things more accessible for new users. First time users tend to have a narrower focus (I know I did when I first started posting) and many topics have fairly generic names outside the context of the particular subforum (and in the case of general and off topic, even within that context). Long time users like you and me stick with new posts/active topics and have learned which threads we're interested in and which we aren't, but the subforums help for the less seasoned.

I don't even remember how I started out using the boards. In any case, I only ever see the board division when I want to mark posts as read.
Someone could put that link on the active/new posts pages, right?

Bashing Call of Duty and Gears of War is a frequent topic
That's amazing, because Gears of War isn't even an FPS. Bashing a game that isn't even an FPS as an FPS is a testament to how much people hate FPSs on Racketboy.
