I have one of those super cheap USB saturn controllers. The button action is total crap, especially the shoulder buttons.
But, apparently the thing to do is remove the circuit board w/cable and put it inside a real model 2 controller. Then you get the official Sega housing and buttons. Problem solved!

This is exactly what I did. The casing on the USB pad is total crap. But after I swapped out the plastic casing and the buttons with a real Saturn pad, everything works beautifully. Its been holding up well for almost two years.

The Saturn pad is indeed sublime, the King of pad controllers. I was lucky enough to grab three of the official Saturn controllers on PS2 and thanks to adapters I now use them on my Famicom, PC Engine, GameCube, Wii, and Xbox 360. I also have one of the good PC Saturn pads and I have three Saturn pads modded to work with my CMVS and Supergun. So no matter what system I'm playing on, I have a Saturn pad in my hands.
Ironically I do not own a Sega Saturn nor any original, unmodded Saturn pads.
