Re: Game of Thrones - Atlus
I did read that it is a completely new story that was crafted (and helped by Martin) just for this game so it isn't by any means playing through the plots in the books.

Then I am interested but will wait for reviews. If you get tired of the preorder bonus book and want to send it to me that'd be cool.retrosportsgamer wrote:I did read that it is a completely new story that was crafted (and helped by Martin) just for this game so it isn't by any means playing through the plots in the books.

I heard about this months ago in the "Atlus is coming out with a new game starting with the letter G" thread, but I thought noise was trolling me.

Re: Game of Thrones - Atlus
I personally love this book series, and I am loving the show.
Therefore, I will not play this game, as I think I would just burn me out on that world.
Does anyone know if Martin had any hand in the story writing for the game? If its supposed to parallel events from the first book, and its not written by him, then I doubt it will tie into the 5 books he has already written.

He didn't write it, but he has approved it AFAIK.dunpeal2064 wrote:I personally love this book series, and I am loving the show.

Hmm, that COULD be interesting then. I know he was on set for the show, and it came out top-notch. Even knowing what is going to happen (or at least thining I know whats gonna happen, since there are some cool changes), I am on the edge of my seat each Sunday to watch this show.
If it does a Lord of the Rigns: Third Age and tries to follow the story, but avoids any actual characters, then idk...
I still think I'll pass, just because the book/show still feels so magical, and I think exploring the world with some new characters might spoil that.
I'll keep my ears open though, if fans of the series end up loving it, and it adds to the already ridiculously complex story, then I may check it out once the price plumets.

There is an interview with Martin in the link I posted on the first page of this thread which talks about his involvement. He certainly had a piece in it and seems to really like the story they crafted.dunpeal2064 wrote:Hmm, that COULD be interesting then. I know he was on set for the show, and it came out top-notch. Re: Game of Thrones - Atlus
Sorry, I totally over-looked that, thanks!
Glad to hear that he likes what they are doing. I'm hesitant, but more interested than I initially was.
