Ys is also the name of a mildly popular board game, and the resulting discussion on boardgamegeek helped spread the correct pronunciation as well.

When I was younger (10 I think), for some reason, I always read Konami as Kanomi and pronounced it as such. Guess it was just my brain playing tricks on me. Or dyslexia.
