There aren't any, really. If you have a fat PS2, a network adaptor used to be a must-have, but I don't think there are many (if any) PS2 games still online.

Forget online games, the network adapter is necessary to install a hard drive in the PS2. Then you can use a hard drive loader to boot games from the hard drive. Preserve your discs, preserve your optical drive, and get faster loading times! In my opinion, and many others, if you have a fat PS2 than this is definitely what you want to be doing.

You have options, but the fat PS2 is the way to go if you wanna play games from a hard drive. The network adapter for the fat PS2 has the connections for a PATA hard drive.



On the slim PS2, the network adapter is built into the console, so there are no connections for a hard drive. You can, however, use a USB hard drive, but the speeds aren't as fast. Also, the compatibility isn't that great. But the last time I read about this was a while back, so maybe there's been updates that make USB hard drive loading compatible with more games.

There's even custom cases for the slim PS2. Basically, they turn a slim PS2 into the size of a fat PS2, and the extra space in the case holds the hard drive.

I also recall reading about being able to boot games over a network, using the ethernet connection that PS2 slim has built in. I never read much about this though, other than the fact that it exist. IIRC, the compatibility still wasn't as good as the real hard drive connection you can have with the fat PS2 and network adapter. But again, maybe things have progressed since I last read about it.

Is RGB the same thing as DVI?

In a nut shell:
RGB is for resolutions of up to 480i and is a tv standard in Europe.
DVI is a digital signal of 480p and upwards and is a pc standard.
So, no. But component is the best next thing for resolutions of up to 480i and component is the only way to enjoy games (forced) in 480p.

What about the Eye Toy camera? I find that kinda fun every now and again, even as a sort of primitive precursor to the Kinect or Wii.
