skies of arcadia dreamcast or gamecube
Re: skies of arcadia dreamcast or gamecube
I have both. I played the Dreamcast version all the way through when it was new and loved it. I picked up the GC version when it was new as well since I was excited about the new content. I prefer the Dreamcast version myself, I noticed the sound was better.....kinda fits since people on here have noted the sound quality is less for the GC. And don't worry about random encounters, just fly above the clouds to avoid them and go down when you need to level.

I'd get the DC version, especially if you have a way of getting the DLC for it (the GC one comes with it built in).

I need to figure out how to get my DC online, those broadband adapters are so pricey

Just buy one of those things that connect a VMU to your PC.Yancakes wrote:I need to figure out how to get my DC online, those broadband adapters are so pricey
Download the files on your PC and transfer them straight to your VMU. Presto...

I'm sure floating around online somewhere is an ISO that can transfer the dlc to your VMU for you...

^ Why go through that kind of hassle when elmagico so graciously linked to a database for the dlc earlier in this thread:

All you need to do is use a dreamcast web browser to go to that website and download the .vmi files to your vmu.
From what I've heard, the GC version outputs mono sound, which is probably what the reports of downgraded sound refer to. I bought and played through both versions around their respective releases, and never noticed too much of a difference between them, but I also never owned a VGA box until recently, so if you have one of those, I would say to play it on the DC. Personally, I'd prefer playing the DC version of just about any game, though.
Also, my first post. *wave*

For my convenience, I would find applequeso's method a lot easier. If you ever find the iso apple, please share!
