If you have RE4 on the Wii you already have the definitive version of the game. The HD version is just a Gamecube upscale. Pointless really.

Radient Silvergun on XBLA is fantastic, upscaled, no slow downs (unlike the Saturn original). Works perfectly with the Mad Catz TE Stick. Completely customisable controls (you're going to want to change the controls from the awful default set up). You can even customise the DIP switch settings for Arcade mode. It's the definitive version of the game, and it's roughly 10% of the price of a 'genuine' copy, so if you don't mind a digital copy, go for it. Or better still, get a sealed copy for posterity and play the superior version on XBLA. Win Win.

That's not necessarily a good thing. If the arcade version had slow down I'd want it replicated in this release. Extra slowdown from a console port is bad, though.

RSG is fun on XBLA, but tbh so far i still prefer playing it on the Saturn. If you really want a good overview of the plusses and minuses of the re-release, read through the post-release date pages here: http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=33821

For example, some differences from that thread:
The 360 port is definitely missing all hardware slowdown. All of Xiga's patterns are really fucking hectic now.. the final 'crystal rain' pattern being the most unnerving (as an aside, if you have any of the hi-def filters turned on, especially ALPHA, you won't be able to read the Be Attitude For Gains as the entire screen gets oversaturated with white during the explosion as Xiga hits the ground). I seem to remember slowdown being fairly important during the battle with Ohtrigen (in Saturn Mode) as well. There's the Penta jump glitch.. seems to happen constantly in Arcade mode but only once in a while in Story Mode. Also, Arcade Mode's ending is incomplete... it shows the first couple of image stills, then "20 years later..." appears on the screen.... and then nothing.. just a black screen that the credits roll past.

I suppose if there are enough complaints about it this would be one of the times I'd be happy to have an update.

Ditto, no slowdown is not always a good thing for shmups.
