Virginia Earthquake - East coast peoples ok?
Re: Virginia Earthquake - East coast peoples ok?
Our entire building felt like it was about to collapse. Some californians said this was different than any other quake that had felt, saying they're usually a side to side motion, and this one was up and down.

I was out running errands and didn't feel a thing but my mom said her building shook and everyone in her meeting ran out into the hall. We live in southeastern PA. I also passed a car on it's side on the way home and thought it was strange. Then I got home and all these earthquake status' were on facebook -- so maybe that's why the car was on it's side?? Maybe not.
I go to school in Pittsburgh too, and a bunch people there were claiming they could feel the aftershock.

A coworker felt it while he was taking a dump. We're in northern Indiana!
12th floor of a building though so that's why he felt it. I didn't feel anything.

I figure there will probably be some damage to older structures and some bumps, bruises, and cleanup, but will mostly be more of a WTF than OMG. I saw one, um fanaticist on the CNN comments already proclaiming armageddon.
But still, someones collection shelf could have fallen on them. We don't want that sort of tragedy.
My gf reports, I did have speakers, Laserdiscs, and games fall off shelves. Its a tragedy!

Now they're saying it was mole people trying to burrow under the White House in DC. Welp, here comes armageddon. If anyone needs any radioactive mole protection gear I have some up on ebay for sale for $99.99. Nothing's too expensive when your life is at stake.

I was in Lowes when people apparently felt it. I myself didn't feel anything, but I over heard people in the store saying "the hole store was shaking!" My father and brother both felt it, both in different parts of the island. I feel like I missed out. I was in Borders after that, that's all I heard people talking about. Trying to make phone calls is a pain in the ass right now because all circuits are busy. I had to call my brother's girlfriend to ask the name of an author (I was in Borders) and had to make a few attempts before I got to her. Too many people on the phone right now, "Did you feel it!? Did you feel it!?!"

Felt it today near Charlotte, NC. I was playing Dragon Age: Origins and I thought my dog was messing with my chair. As I reached down to beat him I realized that he was sitting across the room. Today's earthquake marks the last time that I will ever begin to beat my dog without knowing for sure that he deserves it.
