I'm still kinda bummed there weren't more "great shmups" on the PS2. There were a fair share of "good ones" but not a lot of "great ones" like the Dreamcast. Ya know?

It´s uhm also out for pc. An unintended real arcade version type-x emulation type stuff. Along with TGM3. They run brilliantly on a firm dell laptop.

Wanted to add a question about Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (PS2), is it supposed to run loud too? Because the copy I just received did.

Yup! it's normal. Once again, because the format of the game is CD rom as oppose to DVD rom media, the disc spins at about double the speed on the PS2's driver which is what creates the noisiness (heck, just place your hand on the PS2 and you'll notice how much the console vibrates due to the constant rotation of the CD). Do you have any other 6th gen console other than PS2? because MVC2 on the PS2 is a VERY terrible port! and i mean TERRIBLE!Wanted to add a question about Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (PS2), is it supposed to run loud too? I found there were MORE worthwhile (and great) shmups on the PS2 than the DC. Of course, for both systems, these were mainly just released in Japan.Weekend_Warrior wrote:I'm still kinda bummed there weren't more "great shmups" on the PS2. Can you name me some PS2 shmups that are better than Ikaruga and Zero Gunner 2?Breetai wrote:I found there were MORE worthwhile (and great) shmups on the PS2 than the DC. Re: Anyone Here Own Raiden III for PS2?
It all depends on how balanced the disc is. A wobbly disc is a wobbly disc. I have a few audio CDs that are fine when played at 1x in a normal music CD player but make a PC drive vibrate pretty bad too because of the increased speed.BurningDoom wrote:Wanted to add a question about Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (PS2), is it supposed to run loud too? Your opinion on "better" will be largely based on your thoughts on Cave games. Ibara, DoDonPachi Daioujou, Espgaluda and Mushihimesama are all great places to start on the PS2.Weekend_Warrior wrote:Can you name me some PS2 shmups that are better than Ikaruga and Zero Gunner 2?Breetai wrote:I found there were MORE worthwhile (and great) shmups on the PS2 than the DC.
