I might be alone in this, but I personally can't play Shadow of the Colossus. The frame rates are so painfully low that I can't focus on playing the game.

That and it's just plain boring between fighting colossi anyway. It feels like they were trying to make a Zelda killer, but gave up after making some sweet bosses, leaving the rest of the game content conspicuously missing.

I really can appreciate how majestic the boss fights are, but the game seems a bit overrated to me, considering its outstanding flaws. Hopefully the PS3 remake will at least fix the choppy frame rates.

Also, I'm having trouble thinking of games to get other than those already listed. Multiplat titles I would rather get on my Gamecube. (Who's library I really need to expand, I have about 12 games, but I'm selling half because I don't find the games fun.)
There is the SmartJoy Frag that allows a Keyboard and Mouse for all PS2 games.

PCSX2 just had a huge update earlier this year. Most of the games you mentioned are playable in the latest version of PCSX2. Your PC is going to need to be pretty good, though.

EDIT:

There are many, many, third party PS2 controllers out there as well as converters to use other controllers. There's definitely something out there for you.

Yeah, your not going to like me. I like the Xbox 360 and Gamecube controllers the best. They fit my hands and feel much better.

If I do decide to get a PS2 it will be a long time before I get the system or any games. I want to finish out my Gameboy/GBC/Advance and Gamecube collections, and possibly try a SNES collection before going there. I might check with my friends, they might let me have their old ones for cheap.
Systems: Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, N64, Gamecube, Xbox 360

WTB: Boxes for a silver Gamecube System(and a hyperport cover), and a box for an Ice Blue N64 console. Will pay 7.50 for each and shipping.

You are not alone in this. The framerates don't bother me, but it was a bit of a yawn fest. I felt Ico was much more evenly paced. All the colossii got kind of samey after a while too.

For what it's worth, Saitek makes a pad that works on PS2 (it also has a USB cable). It's between the sizes of a Dual Shock and a GC controller. It also allows you to reverse the positions of the D-pad and left stick, so that the layout matches the 360 or Cube. Unfortunately, the buttons are not as good as on most of Saitek's other gamepads. Might be worth looking into.

I see no reason to emulate PS2. Actual PS2s are very common and quite affordable. I'd think it'd be less hassle just to go out and buy a real one. 100% compatibility, you know.

You would think so, but there's one model of the Slim that has a small list of PS2 games that wont work with it (along with the usual PS1 titles plus a few more).
