I would much rather have another highly polished Future game. Just judging from the videos that have been released it doesn't look anywhere near as sharp and focused as the last two games...

I thought it looked fine. Does it have to be highly polished and sharp? Ratchet: Deadlocked was no where near as polished as Going Commando was and that game kicked ass!

What do you mean "does it have to be polished and sharp?" I mean, I guess not. I'd love to play another PS2 entry in the series too. But why take a step backwards on presentation after the Future games have been so dazzling?

and is just more "me too" New Super Mario Bros. Wii-style co-op.

I think you mean more "me too" Gauntlet Legends style co-op.

I have never played that game, so no, that isn't what I mean.
I am not interested in playing platform games with other people at all.

but platformers feel like they should be single player games.

I take it you haven't played Chip 'N Dale: Rescue Rangers or Sonic the Hedgehog 2?

I have, and they aren't as fun or satisfying as playing single player.

I mean, I'll still buy and play the game, but it doesn't have me as excited as a real Ratchet & Clank game would. I'm not very excited for Heroes On The Move or whatever it's called now either.

I loved Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers and the co-op was even better than single player imho. I'm really looking forward to this. 95% of platformers are single player anyway, seems kind of selfish to bitch when those of us who do like multi-player platformers get thrown a bone for once. Especially when there's still a single-player option.

I played Sonic 2's multiplayer plenty, and it stinks. Whoever plays Tails gets the shaft, because he always ends up getting left behind and having to respawn. And if Sonic is going real fast, it can take quite a while before the game will hand over control of Tails back to player 2. Sonic 2 is more fun alone.

I don't know about Chip N Dale, I only have the manual.

So the NEW, new Ratchet & Clank game comes out next week. Full Frontal Assault. Looks like multi-player will be a big focus again, but I get the impression this one can be played and enjoyed solo as well. It's old school R & C gameplay mixed with tower defense play. Could be fun I guess

I played the demo the other day. It's not too bad ... except when I got stuck in a wall then deleted the entire demo because I had absolutely no energy to restart it.

I might pick it up later.
