I would appreciate it if you'd stop spelling it with a "t". It is spelled with a "d".

It's a great game. But Morrowind has something that makes it special and I enjoyed playing it just a bit more. Although I did like the fast travel and hit detection much better on Oblivion.
Thanks everyone...

Fallout 3 is great, but, honestly, my favourite Fallout game is Fallout 2. I totally ignored the PS2/XBox game.

I do really like Oblivion, but, honestly, I have spent more time with Morrowind and find it to be better overall (WITH plenty of mods). I do prefer the graphical style of Oblivion, since I really dig the medieval fantasy setting over Morrowind's world (interesting as it is).

Ok when you say that Oblivion is not "deep"
what do you exactly mean?

I'll look into Morrowind

I think it's not a problem of shallowness, the problem to me is that it lacks soul, it lacks something that compels you to do stuff.

That's how I felt, I saw a lot of things to do but no reason to.

I want to like Oblivion, but I can't. Two main problems for me. Firstly, a large number of small problems make the game world feel really dead to me. Almost nothing about the game feels organic and alive. It's all very static and robot like to me (Like General_Norris said, no soul). Secondly, the core gameplay just isn't fun enough or varied enough to get me interested.

EDIT NOTE: I have never played any of the other Elder Scrolls games and can't fairly compare.

I don't really enjoy Bethesda games at all, I couldn't get into Oblivion or Fallout 3, yet I really enjoyed New Vegas (Obsidian developed this one).

I don't know how to really explain it anyways, they're just plain boring games to me. I got to the first town in Fallout 3 and when they loaded me with 20 some quests I gave up. Oblivion on the other hand I played for hours, but then suddenly it felt like I was doing absolutely nothing important, going through the same random caves, etc.

I think what sold Morrowind the most for me was that the setting was so different from the standard fantasy world you normally see. Vvardenfall was an alien place and it made exploring the world a treat.

I do think Oblivion did some things better than Morrowind, though. The combat felt more natural than Morrowind's "swing and miss" style and magic was no longer cumbersome to use. Plus, the later stages of the Dark Brotherhood questline was amazing and much better than the generic murder quests of the Morag Tong. Some of the problems with Oblivion can be removed through mods, like adding back in travel nodes, opening up the cities, and removing the leveling. I am still sad they removed spears, thougoh. And using Sigil Stones makes the game too easy.
