Knockoff DS rumble pack - opinions?
Re: Knockoff DS rumble pack - opinions?
The 3-in-1 also enables GBA playback. IIRC you can't do that with the R4 without a slot-2 card. It also has extra RAM for Opera, or more importantly Quake/QuakeII. I haven't actually tried the rumble function on mine. A vibrating cartridge just doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

I've had the rumble enabled without issues so far.

What games support the rumble pak except for metroid prime pinball anyway? I always wondered. I have MPP, but I was wonderign if any of my other games could use the pak if i bought it. I had the same issue as Hobie - 2nd hand MPP, no rumble pak included.

I'd never heard of either of them. There were games I'd heard of that didn't make that (huge) list, so...meh!Opa Opa wrote:I see a disturbing lack of Moon and Orcs & Elves in that list.YoshiEgg25 wrote:Notable games[...]

Re: Knockoff DS rumble pack - opinions?
Oh hey, thats rather more games I own than I was expecting. Some pretty notable games I want were in the list too (hotel dusk, last window, sega racing, 42 all time classics, space invaders extreme, super princess peach, viva pinata). However, I have to wonder why some of them have it - what on earth can rumble add to hotel dusk, picross, or all time classics?!Opa Opa wrote:

BTW, Bowsers Inside Story says rumble was removed in the US - is that true of the european version too?

Re: Knockoff DS rumble pack - opinions?
I don't think so. That's actually pretty new; when I got mine, that page didn't say anything about the US version of BIS not working with the Rumble Pak.alienjesus wrote: BTW, Bowsers Inside Story says rumble was removed in the US - is that true of the european version too?

The rumble pak can immerse you into the game just a little bit more but it really depends on what game. Some games work with it really well (ex: Hotel Dusk, Metroid) and others are absolutely terrible (I'm looking at you Space Invadersalienjesus wrote:However, I have to wonder why some of them have it - what on earth can rumble add to hotel dusk, picross, or all time classics?!
