I was going to ask the same myself.

Excited about how the final product turns out. A smartphone with dedicated controls is just great. I've managed a great deal with my n96 these past two years. It's kept me greatly entertained on those commutes to work. I nearly finished Castlevania Aria Sorrow. I even put together a damn PowerPoint presentation on it. If Sony can pull this off, good on them.

If this is affordable and AT&T compatible, I may choose this as my next phone. I didn't see any carrier information on the page so I'm just kinda hoping. I know I want an android phone, and this has a lot of potential. I'll just have to get some kind of hands-on demo when it comes out. I'm surprised that I'm so interested, but I am intrigued nonetheless.

How much to the phone-using and PSP playing demographics overlap? I always see people texting each other and chatting on their phones, but the number of people having Tekken and Monster Hunter battles on their PSP is much less. I think both sides already have what they want and I don't see how a marriage of the two accomplishes anything.
I don't live in Japan and this would be a happy "marriage" for me. I need a new phone anyway, though this is not likely to come out soon, I've only had 3 different phones over the last 10 years, so I can certainly wait, lol. Plus it uses the android platform and not some Sony mess.

The idea is good. But it looks like the implementation is totally half assed. I know the pics aren't final hardware, but seriously could they have put less effort into it. They must really want to keep using all the tooling from Mylos to make make more half baked unsuccessful products.

But hey, maybe they'll make a xmb android ui instead of using the rotten one they have now, that could be pretty nice. And if it pushes the Android games market along I'd be happy.

It runs on Android... so what happens when Sony inevitably decides to remove Linux support??

I'm not thrilled about it, but we'll see what kind of software support it gets. Thing is, it would really have to dazzle me with exclusives to get me to pick it up. I have an iphone with about 15 or so games that i barely ever play on it already. I just don't game on a phone.

This isn't the PSP2, btw. The psp2 have duel analogue nubs and a touchpad on the back of the device where your fingers naturally fall.

Hmmm.

That actually looks really cool to me. I always felt the only thing missing from the PSP was a phone and camera.

Honestly...I'll buy this in a heartbeat if it runs android and works with AT&T.

Interesting, I would never buy one. But a smart move.
For Sony buffs, you'll be interested to know that there's no Memory Stick slot here, but there is support for microSD cards.

ha. no, not really, just sayin... it would be a great loss, avoidable, but possible. guess i'm just scared of the 19 years of time i packed into 4 years loading my iPod and anally (heh heh) sorting the albums and whatnot. i guess a cell phone is the most easily lost thing of the 3... eh, i won't be redundant. just sayin, ya kno
