This is unacceptable.
Contrary to the popular misconception, diversity should not be celebrated. Unity should.
The United States’ strength has always been in the celebrated “melting pot” ideal, where people of differing cultures come here to become AMERICANS, without the descriptive hyphen we hear too often.
We are not African-Americans, Irish-Americans, Mexican-Americans, German or French-Americans. We are Americans. The hyphen should be left at the door when entering…LEGALLY.
I don't understand the current trend to "celebrate diversity". It feels to often like we have to celebrate for the sake of celebrating.
