Sometimes when I post a new post I get a "PHP error... can not send email". Hrmmm, I'm guessing this is the option to email people every time a post is updated in a thread they are watching. I don't know if you have that set up, but I know PHPbb has that option. Maybe you should look into that.

It has occurred in the "Sony Microsoft forum" in the thread with the poll about all the systems.

And it has occurred in the "General forum" in the thread about next gen war where you (racket) talk about the Wii doing the best.

Sounds similar to what I experienced on my forum, until I followed the following steps:

Code: Select all

Login to the Administration Panel.

Click on Configuration under the General Admin section.

Scroll down to the Email Settings area.

Adjust settings as follows:
- Use SMTP Server for email: Yes
- SMTP Server Address: smtpout.secureserver.net
- SMTP Username: [email protected] (change out with your actual full email address)
- SMTP Password: y0uRpAs5w0rD (again, replace the example with your actual password)

Click on Submit.

The poster did include a link to the source, but it's still a direct-link image.

OK, I did that. My GMail SMTP was the only one I could think of to use. I hope that works ok.

Didn't work with Gmail, but figured the racketboy.com SMTP settings :)
And I just tested it and found out it works :)
