Really? Pikmin for the Gamecube goes for a few quid in my local shop. If the Wii version is cheaper for you though, and don't mind using the Wii controls, then opt for that I say.

I have the Wii version, but i just cant get in to it. Yeah, i know that the timer is supposed to make you feel rushed, but I just cant get used to it. I keep reloading my file every (in game) day, on the first day I explore the environment, on the "second" day I get the items (now that i already know where they are I will probably get them faster); it makes the game feels tedious and repetitive.

If you have a Wii, you may want to get a copy of Little King Story, it is a similar concept but better executed, it has a great sense of humor and it is really long (around 20 something hours)

Off-topic, but because of this thread I just picked up Pikmin 2 (Gamecube version), becuase I hadn't played it before, but loved the first Pikmin.

I have to say that so far I'm finding it much better than the first Pikmin. Removing the time limit is a great thing actually.

The only thing is I'm not so certain I quite like the addition of the purple and white Pikmin and the underground sections. I don't actually mind the new Pikmin per say though, it's more the fact that they don't have an onion that kind of irritates me, because you have to go through the underground sections again just build up your numbers and it's kind of tedius.

Also, I can see myself starting to dislike the underground sections once I've played it more like someone said on the previous page. At the moment, I find them alright, but they do seem to be making up the bulk of the game....

Overall however, I do find it to be the better game, at least so far. I haven't completed it yet.
