crux wrote:You honestly think that court settlements equate to guilt and that a temporary lapse of judgment is the same thing as bad parenting? This is a topic about the way a man's artistic work is being treated after his death. Stating that he "fucked little boys" is hardly relevant or productive. You're a helpful member of this community, but sometimes I'm genuinely surprised that you're a moderator.
I was opinionated before I was a moderator, and being one hasn't changed that. Zero's post was citing MJ's integrity and credibility, two things which I feel don't extend beyond his music making ability. I don't think "disrespect" is a term that should apply to him, and so I stated my opinion.

I get sick of all the MJ worship from the press and everyone else. Yes, Thriller is a good album, but the man was a pederast. Even if it is because of his own upbringing/abuse/etc. - he was still scum.

And if we just want to keep the discussion to music, MJ had a pretty shitty output from the mid 90s on. If this is full of unreleased recent stuff, it most likely won't be any good either.

I wasnt a big MJ fan while he was alive be he was talented. Unfortunately his messed up childhood really effected him in adulthood, getting progressively worse as time went on. I dont think he "fucked" any children, but he probably had inappropriate touching, i imagine mostly cuddling. I dont think he was mentally and socially mature enough to understand why what he was doing was wrong, mostly due to being an abuse victim growing up. The man was clearly a musical genius and a perfectionist, which is why he has so much plastic surgery and all of the skin bleaching and all of the unreleased music. I dont think it would be disrespectful if they mastered and released some of his tracks as long as the money made was held is trust for his kids (even though they most likely arent genetically his)

I think the media has generally been more respectful of MJ since he died. I haven't seen any ghastly photographs with the name Jacko written under them in some time.

changing the color of your skin doesn't change your DNA...

and I really don't believe Michael had actually fucked kids. Let me put it this way. If my child had actually been molested, there is no amount of money that would stop me from wanting to see the man who did it behind bars.

So why did the child's father accept it?

Anyway I don't really care. It's your right to believe what you want, but we are here to talk about his music.

Yeah I understand why corporations are milking every MJ thing they have, but I still don't like it.

It's not like he settled out of court once is it, his financial records showed it was something he had done before and continued to do. the guy was fucking creepy.

He didn't have vitiligo his toxicology report on death showed he was taking medication that would change skin pigmentation, didn't he try to tell everyone it was the pepsi fire thing at first.

'Of the Wall' and 'Thriller' were great but given the turds he pushed out subsequently I'd suggest that was by Quincy Jones hand anyway.

Patton Oswalt does a good MJ bit;

Unless you cite a source, I call BS on this. The tracks on Sonic 3, AFAIK, are NOT confirmed to have been written by MJ. Apparently MJ did do work for the music on Sonic 3, but it was redone by someone else because of the child molesting thing. Where did you get the bit about "not wanting his name on Sonic 3 because of a subpar soundchip"? Did you just make that up?
And even before we reach the first anniversary of his death, there has been released a movie from his rehearsals (and I'm guessing as any rehearsal I don't think they were perfect), unreleased songs will get released (as I said above he didn't release them because he didn't like them) and what broke the straw for me a MJ game from Ubi Soft. Some how I don't think he would have liked that either.
I see nothing wrong with this stuff at all. This is great stuff for fans of his music, and probably nothing to bad an eye at for everyone else.

I don't know who exactly handles his legacy, but I'm sure he didn't care for Michael at all. He is just milking the world for it's MJ mania.
Why wouldn't MJ's music get milked for all its worth? As for legacy, MJ ruined his own legacy with his fetish for young boys (whether it was sex or not, it's still bloody weird).
Anyone else finds all this disrespectful?
Nope. Not at all.

Because the children's fathers (see the plural?) are not you and do not think like you do. A few million US dollars is more than enough money to secure a good future for a child. Which makes a better parent; to vindictively want a man who committed a crime behind bars, or to know that your child's future is as secure as possible? You have already given your answer.

did I say something bad about your mother or are you just that immature that you attack people for no reason?

I got that info from this article

http://kotaku.com/5418198/yes-michael-j ... hedgehog-3

but I hadn't read the update, and only saw it now that I searched for it again. So I could be wrong.

and about your last comment, yeah money makes for better parenting you are sooooo right.

I have a much better question. Why does the state of death suddenly require us to respect someone we may or may not have respected in life?
