The standard S-Video cable fit, but was still in black and white.

The cable from e-bay is in the mail. Hopefully it works.

As fragile as S-Video cables are, check the pins, verify on the DVD player.

So is the right hand pinout from your laptop more then four pins receiver holes?
Probably a proprietary plug for Dell adaptor. Hopefully one in the mail works.

The S-Video out has 7 holes. The PDF didn't tell me anything I didn't already know. I'll get back to you once the cable arrives.

Glad it worked. Pulled a pic of your find for others to see up front. The 4 pin S-Video not working sucks considering this is just a audio - video outlet plug. Dell switched those pins around on purpose so you have to have the proprietary plug with that cumbersome bulky adaptor block. Modified S-Video cable could work if you wanted to pursue it. A simple matter now with the adaptor, trace pins of S-Video to that Dell plug with a volt meter.
