For the Fat PS2 most IDE (I like calling them the old way) will fit. Westerndigital will even fit if you notch out the Network Adapter sliding connector. Plenty of inexpensive IDE/PATA around, better than dealing with an additional adapter for SATA drive.

what do i gotta do to make WD's fit. ive taken the metal off before but that's it.

That's it, Just need enough room to slide connectors to match the Drive.

nothing at the moment it's sitting on my dresser...it's 40gb

also i remember why i stopped trying to mod it for WD's, i didn't have the 6 way screw driver it looks like an asterisk

Nice anyidea where the best place to purchase this at. Because i currently have a 160gig in my Fat Ps2 and its really not enough storage for all the games in want to install in there.
