so since ata drives are hard to find for xbox and ps2
anyone think these will work in the xbox1/ps2 so we can use sata hard drives and not worry about ATAs anymore

They work in xboxes for sure (i'm using it), but I am not sure if you'll be able to close the back of the ps2 with that extra cm of space taken up.
If you aren't having a good time, why are you playing?

PATA hard drives aren't that hard to find these days.
Re: so since ata drives are hard to find for xbox and ps2
id rather just slap in a brand new sata than worry if that pata will be worth installing >_>

That's true if you don't mind a hard drive under 80GB. Large & cheap IDE drives are harder to find though.Ziggy587 wrote:PATA hard drives aren't that hard to find these days.

You might be able to fit a laptop sata drive into a PS2 or Xbox with that adapter, but just go on Newegg and buy a new PATA one for now while they're still available.

sata in ps2 sounds like a plan, except that the converter doesn't connect directly to the PS2's IDE network adaptor.

How big of a drive are you looking to put in the ps2? I mean you can get 250gb Maxtor drive (with correct spacing for the network adaptor) for $30 used/$50 new.
