So I went to Dave & Buster's for the first time yesterday.

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

we went to the one in the Concord Mills Mall near Charlotte, NC.

I love that mall too, right across the hall from the D&B is an arcade filled to the brim with nothing but fighters and older Model 1/2 arcade games.

2P Sit down Wing War anyone?

there's one 15 minutes from my house... pretty decent selection of games... i don't mind overpaying, since overpaying is better than having no arcades around at all...

too bad the days of having a choice of arcades with $0.25-$1 prices are long gone... there's only 1 arcade that I know of that's like that in my area...

A girl I work with wants to have a party there and I was wondering if the machines are pay as you go or if you pay a fee at the door and then have unlimited play. The commercials make it seem like you can play as much as you want, but if it is like the normal arcade I imagine they charge a lot per game (compared to the OC boardwalk) and you can end up spending a ton of money by the end of the night.

Genius idea, between drinks and arcade games they must make a killing.
Unless they've changed things in the last four months, it's pay as you go. You buy a card and get credits on it. All of the games are expensive.
D&B has half-cost days, that's usually when I go.

I've kinda lost that feeling when I go into D&B. I know that the machines will charge out the ass and it's just going to be light-gun games - and aside from HotD4, I own all the light-gun games they have. So, I always just end up spending about $1.50 on each credit of HotD4.

I really lost it when, after spending about $30 at D&B, I exit into the rest of the mall and find a FYE Arcade, which had MvC, MvC2, MSHvSF, CvS2, SvC:Chaos,GGXX Accent Core, and loads of other machines... and they were charging just $0.25 a game. I felt so ripped off.

Wait a minute, are you in NC?

That's exactly what's up at the Mall I went to D&B's for.

Also if you go to B&B's at 5PM they have an unlimited hour, just pay $5 for a card and have unlimited credits for one hour.

WOO!

Though my being under the drinking age may put a slight damper on the whole rowdiness of the party.
