Can the Wii usb loader scrub the dummy files and still play them?

I think that's a function of WBFS, not USB Loader. When I add games via the WBFS manager, they don't take the full amount of space. I believe this is because the dummy data is compressed well under WBFS.Krooner wrote:Can the Wii usb loader scrub the dummy files and still play them?
I have a 250GB drive with ~25 games on it. I think I have roughly 170GB free.

Not true, all ps2's including slims can use usb hard drives, its just that nobody in their right mind would recommend using usbadvance or any other usb loader because of the low compatibility for running games. Wii usb loader for games is on a whole different level. Your best bet for ps2 is getting the network adapter and installing an ide hdd on the fat one, then using a freemcboot installation for loading hddloader and playing your backups so your kids don't ruing your discs.Lokkenjawnz wrote:All I know is that the slim ps2 can't use the hard drive, so I'm pretty sure you're out of luck there, but the fat ps2 should be fine.
There are a couple of guys in the forum who I think are volunteering for freemcboot installation for the cost of shipping if you are not that good with technical stuff. Either way here's the best tutorial.
I'll let the other guys handle the Wii stuff for now.

What you said is definitely true for USB Advance but there's a team over at psx-scene.com that are working on the Open PS2 Loader project. It seems to have a lot of promise and they think they can get pretty close with compatibility since USB 1.1 is slightly slower than the DVD. Just tried the latest version of Open PS2 Loader and have to say they have really outdone themselves. Playing games off the network from my PC is really outstanding. Recommend you take a look at that app.gtmtnbiker wrote:What you said is definitely true for USB Advance but there's a team over at psx-scene.com that are working on the Open PS2 Loader project.
